Moonbeam Films, “The Listening Post” and other projects June 2008, August 2010, March 2011 Position: Unpaid Internship with independent television production company Role: I have worked on a number of projects for this company, including “The Listening Post” media show, broadcast weekly on global news channel, Al-jazeera English; focusing particularly on the Video of the Week feature and assisting in filming at Al-jazeera’s London studios. The topic of research changed rapidly every week. Whilst in Moscow, I investigated potential subject matter, contributors and presenters for the radio programme, “Communist Cosmos”, broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in April, 2011. The programme charts the development of the Soviet space programme. I independently organised and held preliminary interviews in both Russian and English, with soviet-era astronomers and engineers. Assisted at recorded interviews of two former cosmonauts, working with sound equipment and providing basic logistical help. “Between the Lines” pilot episode, featuring the Dublin Writers’ Festival June 2010 Position: Researcher and Producers Assistant. Role: Researched (largely online) potential principal presenters and programme content for prospective weekly book show, currently under discussion with BBC World Service; assisted at shoots and filmed interviews, including those of Ian McEwan and Antony Beevor; acted as lighting assistant; transcribed interviews; researched and identified possible sponsors for the show. City Broadcasting Ltd. September 2006 & July 2008 Position: Assistant on Carlysle Tv project Role: Worked on a community television project, testing the strength of radio signals and searching for a suitable site for television broadcast station. Later worked as research assistant on radio programme “Comrades in Arts”, submitted to BBC Radio 4. Researched and wrote programme proposal for 30 minute programme discussing the role of Russian Oligarchs in the contemporary art world. Investigated potential contributors, subject matter, sourced documentary evidence, conceived principal argument of piece. La Chicoree Restaurant, Lille, France July 2006 Position: Work Experience Waiting Staff Role: Laid and cleared tables, cleaned and prepared the restaurant, cleaned pots and dishes and served food.
